The gunslinger

I'm currently reading The Gunslinger by Stephen King and it is only getting better. I am currently standing among the remains of the people of the town. I say this because of the great amount of detail that Stephen King puts into his work. One day your watching a man get brought back from the dead the next your looking at the remains of what once was.
I extremely like the way this book is written because it feels like the reader is right there while everything is happening. If every book had as much detail as this book then I would read much more often and a lot less just because I'm forced to read. However one thing this book does lack is a backstory.

Human Nature

I believe that every human has the potential to be good and bad and that every human is born with a neutral moral compass. I think that it is up to whatever that person is exposed to first will define them most. For example if someone who hasn't really been shaped in any way gets exposed to something bad then they will most likely have a bad moral compass. I find that there is one exception to this idea that is if someone has a neutral compass and watches something bad happen then they may be moved to have a good moral compass.
The reason I think this is because it makes most sense to me. If I had a stronger religious background I might have a completely different outlook on things and the way they are around me. However since I do not I go with what makes most sense to me in my own head. So if this makes absolutely no sense to the reader then well I suppose in a way it is serving its purpose.

Fall Break Post

This post will consist of some of the things I did and or realized this fall break. Some of the things I did were hang out with some old friends, go shooting, and just chill around the house. While most of these things were very uneventful hanging out with some of my old friends turned out to be really fun. It ranged from getting all of the shady looks from everyone because you don't typically see people walking around just talking at 4 in the morning. To looking for the clowns that hang around town to "see what was their deal."
All of this lead me to realize that no matter how many friends you have everyone knows the group of friends that they have the most fun with. In my case it is the people that I don't get to see very often. Maybe it is just because I don't get to see them that often but I'm saying they are those people. I get to see these people maybe once or twice a year who knows if that's because if they were here all the time who knows the amount of trouble we would get into.

Reading Response

The book I am currently The Gunslinger by Stephen King as of right now The Gunslinger is hot on the trail of the man in black. I really like how this part of the book is written in a way that seems very present and understandable. This part of the book in my opinion is the easiest to read. It uses very modern terms that wouldn't typically be used in the book but due to the setting.
I also like how this part of the book is very suspenseful but doesn't leave the reader in a state of confusion. The suspense level I'd say ranges from a 4-6 which in my opinion is a relatively healthy range for a book. For example the Gunslinger comes across a town and finds a women whom he is not sure is a trap that is left for him or not. Personally that seems to me to be an almost perfect amount of suspense.

Reading Response

The book I'm currently reading is called The Gunslinger by Stephen King. It is a book about a gunslinger in a post apocalyptic world. So far I have really taken a liking for this book due to the very vulgar and crude writing style. It really feels like someone has just walked through a desert chasing a shadow that might not be real. The amount of detail that every book wants to have but doesn't always achieve.
An example of the details in this book would be when the Gunslinger walks into town and tells the man he has a mule. At first the many doesn't actually see the Gunslinger and just thinks hes a newcomer. When he turns around and sees the guns at his waste his tone changes and he starts to shake with fear. This makes me feel like I'm right there in the scene.

Free Post

My free post is going to be about what it is I plan on doing over fall break. Over fall break my cousins will be coming into town so that will be fun. We will probably go clay shooting on the last day they are in town before they go back to Dallas. We do this just about every time they come into town. I typically get a podium position maybe 2nd or 3rd. Typically goes my brother, my dad, me, my uncle, and my cousin.
At the house we will probably just sit at home and chill out. A lot of grilling will be happening because we always have a little competition as to which side of the family can grill the best. In general it will be a pretty typical weekend except for the fact that we will have some guests. Then when we come back I get to start thinking about what I want for my birthday.
